Estate Planning in Oxfordshire

Estate planners first — helping families across Oxfordshire protect what matters, without the jargon.

What estate planning actually means

You don’t need a large or complicated estate to benefit. Estate planning is about clarity and protection — making sure your money, home and belongings pass to the right people with the least possible stress.

It also means someone you trust can act for you if you’re ever unable to act for yourself.

For most families, it comes down to three practical things: making a valid Will, setting up Lasting Powers of Attorney, and keeping both safely stored and up to date. We’ll explain every term as we go.

I engaged A.D.E. Wills to help my elderly father with his wishes regarding his will and lasting powers of attorney. The service provided was exceptional. The home visits were essential for my father and were carried out with a high level of professionalism. Edward explained everything in simple terms and with great patience, knowledge and understanding. My father was delighted with the results and we would highly recommend the services provided.

I cannot thank Edward and his team enough for the kindness and support they have shown me. Edward has been incredibly considerate, professional and patient throughout. He has always taken the time to listen to me, explain things clearly and make sure that I am comfortable and understand everything before proceeding. I have never felt rushed or pressured. During a very difficult time for me and my family, his compassion and the way he has treated me as a person, rather than simply as a client, has meant a great deal to me. Edward is an incredible Will writer and I am extremely grateful for everything he and his team have done for me. Beverley

I genuinely cannot recommend Edward and his team highly enough. From the beginning, Edward has been thoughtful, patient, compassionate and extremely professional. I have probably asked him an endless number of questions 😂, but he has never made me feel as though I am being a nuisance or asking too much. He takes the time to explain things properly, and if there is something that requires further investigation, he will actually take the time to look into it and come back to me rather than simply giving a generic response. What has meant the most to me, however, is the way he has gone above and beyond for my mum, particularly given her health. He has shown genuine consideration for her circumstances, adapted things where necessary and done everything he reasonably could to make an incredibly difficult situation that little bit easier for us. There is a real human side to the service Edward provides. You feel listened to, supported and reassured that the person dealing with something so important genuinely cares about getting it right. I am also extremely grateful to his team for their help and professionalism throughout. At a time when our family has had so much to deal with, having people we could trust with such important matters has made a huge difference. Thank you, Edward, for your patience with all of my questions, for the extra time and effort you’ve put in, and most importantly, for the kindness and respect you’ve shown my mum. It genuinely hasn’t gone unnoticed. ❤️

I cannot thank Edward at A.D.E wills enough for the professional and personal service I received from him. I had previously tried two different will writing services to no avail. Once the initial meeting was over with their representatives, there was absolutely no follow up at all. Edward on the other hand was not only knowledgeable and thorough, but also extremely patient with me and my situation, replying swiftly to any questions and concerns I had. It was a huge relief to finally receive my will and store it away safely knowing that every conceivable legal issue was covered. I am completely happy with the service I received from Edward and would totally recommend A.D.E wills to anyone.

Estate planners first

Plenty of firms will sell you a Will. We start the other way round — with you, and the whole plan — then recommend only the pieces you actually need.

That’s what “estate planners first” means: the plan leads, the products follow. We’d rather get the plan right than upsell a document.

You can read about our story on the About page.

estate planning consultation at A.D.E. Wills

Your estate plan, built from three services

Most plans are built from these three. Start wherever fits, or talk to us and we’ll help you decide.

The foundation of any estate plan. Choose an in-person Will at home or our Oxford office (same price), a lower-cost online Will, or our priority Emergency Will service. From £245.

An LPA lets someone you trust make decisions for you if illness or injury stops you doing so yourself — for your finances, health, or both. Choose Full Service or Self-Sign. From £340, plus the OPG fee.

A Will only works if it can be found and stays current. Our Safe Will Plan gives you fireproof storage and a yearly review reminder, and the Legacy Care Plan keeps it up to date. From £3 a month.

Why this matters

Two situations come up often enough to have pages of their own: what happens to your Will when you marry, separate or divorce, and how a Life Interest Trust can protect a share of your home from care fees. And if you haven’t made your Will yet, that’s the place to start.

Estate planning across Oxfordshire, Oxford and beyond

We meet clients face to face at home or at our Oxford office — for the same price — right across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, extending into Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. A little further afield, a small travel supplement may apply.

And because our online service works just as well by video, we can help clients anywhere in the UK. So wherever you are, there’s a way to get your estate plan sorted.

Where tax planning fits in

If it would help, we can introduce you to a trusted, independent financial adviser — with no obligation. Our job is your estate plan; theirs is the financial detail. You’ll never be pushed into products you don’t need.

Estate planning FAQs

Yes. It’s about protecting people and avoiding confusion, not just passing on wealth. A clear plan spares your family stress and delay, whatever the size of your estate.

A Will is the core of it. But a complete plan usually also includes Lasting Powers of Attorney, plus keeping everything stored and up to date.

We cover Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire as our core home-visit area (same price as the office), extending into Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. We also work UK-wide online.

No. We’re estate planners, not financial advisers, and we don’t sell financial products. If your situation would benefit from regulated financial advice, we can point you to a trusted, independent adviser — but that’s entirely your choice, with no obligation.
