Home Visit Will Writing Service in Oxfordshire

A professional Will writer at your door, at a time that suits you. Fixed fees from £400, no jargon, no obligation.

Why choose a face to face appointment?

Making a Will is one of the most caring things you can do for the people you love, and it’s much easier to talk it through properly sitting at your own kitchen table than anywhere else. Our home visit will writing service brings the whole thing to you — the conversation, the drafting, and the guidance to get it signed correctly — across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties.

Some conversations are simply better in person. When we sit down together, we can take our time — look at paperwork, talk through the awkward bits, and make sure nothing important is missed. There’s no screen between us and no rush.

When a home visit is the right choice

A home visit tends to suit people in these situations:

Travelling is difficult

Limited mobility, no transport, or simply no wish to make the journey.

You want privacy

Somewhere familiar, with the time to talk properly about something personal.

You'd like someone with you

Your partner, or an adult child, sitting in and hearing it all first-hand.

Your paperwork is to hand

Previous Wills, deeds, and other documents are all in one place — we can look at them together.

You're arranging it for a parent

We come to them, explain things patiently, and never rush an older client.

It's not a simple estate

A business, a second marriage, children from a previous relationship, property abroad.

Will writing at home: as easy as 1, 2, 3

No forms to fill in and no jargon to decode. Here’s exactly what happens.

1

Book your visit

Request a call back or ring 01865 507174, and we’ll find a time that suits — evening appointments available. You’ll get a confirmation email and our Will Instructions Preparation Guide.

2

We visit you

We come to you and talk it through properly, usually over an hour. We’ll cover who inherits (your beneficiaries), who looks after any children under 18 (their guardians), and who carries out your wishes (your executors).

3

Approve and sign

We draft your Will and send it with a Clause Clarification Guide explaining each part in plain English. Unlimited changes until you’re happy. Then your printed Will arrives with a Signing Guide so you can make it legally binding.

Home visit Will packages

Prefer to meet in our office?

Home isn’t always the easiest place for an open conversation about your Will — particularly if you’d rather not be overheard. You’re very welcome to meet us at our office instead, near Oxford city centre, with a private meeting room and no time pressure.

The price is exactly the same as a home visit. Call us on 01865 507174 to arrange one.

What our clients say

In their own words — clients we’ve visited across Oxfordshire and beyond.

Professional, knowledgeable, courteous and approachable. Timely completion of documents, flexible to meet around our availability and helpful in signposting us to other agencies we may find useful. Highly recommend.

Mrs K

Everything was extremely smooth and Edward is very adept at explaining all of the legalities and technical points in an extremely simple and easy to understand language.

Mr T

Edward from the Will writing service from A.D.E Wills supported us very well on the details of our rather complex wills. Certainly as good, and much quicker, as the expensive bigger law firm we were working with before and much better than the online will making services that we explored. Highly recommended!

Mr R

Fantastic service from Edward start to finish in providing new set of wills for my wife and myself. Chose a home visit and it was an absolute pleasure with Edward explaining and listening to our needs. Very professional , thorough and takes great care in advising his clients. I would recommend his services, no hesitation.

Mr and Mrs P

A.D.E Wills helped me write my first will. I had loads of questions throughout the process as I've never done this before, but Edward was very good at explaining everything to me at every step. The price was good too and I never felt rushed either, and the customer services was unparalleled.

Miss B

The Will writing service from A.D.E. Wills was excellent. Edward was helpful, thorough, clear and kind. His language, and the language in the Will are easy to understand and not burdened with legal jargon - but still legally very sound. Highly recommend!

Mrs B

I can't recommend Edward highly enough. He handled our complex and evolving situation with skill and understanding. He met all of our unreasonable timescales resulting from our circumstances, with ease and good humour. We now have the peace of mind that everything is in order.

Mrs D

If you are looking for legal advice, you should definitely consider A.D.E Wills. I am truly grateful with the service I received. I've never seen such a high quality customer service.

Mr G

Edward was excellent when dealing with my elderly, poorly grandparents. He was very efficient when helping them to write their will at such short notice. My Grandfather who is very deaf can be somewhat hard to deal with at times, Edward handled him just perfectly.

Miss G

Edwards diligence is absolutely second to none. What a lovely young man offering the most genuine and professional service, with his clients needs and empathetic consideration first and foremost.

Two free guides to help you get started

Our Will Guide explains, in plain English, what a Will does, who you’ll need to name, and how the whole process works.

The Will Writing Checklist is a short worksheet to fill in before your appointment — it makes the conversation easier and means nothing gets forgotten.

Your Will is part of a bigger picture

A Will decides what happens after you die. It doesn’t help while you’re alive — so most of our clients also set up a Lasting Power of Attorney, which lets someone you trust act for you if illness or injury ever stops you acting for yourself. And a Will only works if it can be found and still says what you meant, which is where safe storage and regular reviews come in.

We can cover any of this in the same visit, so you needn’t arrange a second appointment.

Home visit Will writing questions

Some do, though many don’t, and those that do often charge extra for it. To be plain about it, we’re not solicitors — we’re professional Will writers, which means we specialise purely in Wills and estate planning rather than practising law more broadly. Home visits are a standard part of what we offer rather than an exception. Your Will is just as legally valid, the fee is fixed and lower, and we’re far more flexible about when we can see you. Your Will is written by a full member of the Society of Will Writers, working to their Code of Practice and holding full professional indemnity insurance.

£400 for a single Will and £565 for a couple, fixed and agreed before we start. That’s the same price as meeting us at our Oxford office. A £75 travel supplement applies to some areas — see Areas we cover above, or call us with your postcode.

Usually about an hour. We don’t rush and we don’t charge by the hour, so if your situation needs longer, it takes longer.

We’ll send you our Will Instructions Preparation Guide when you book, which sets out what’s worth having to hand. Nothing needs to be sorted out in advance — most people arrive at their own kitchen table with a rough idea and we work it through together.

Yes. If the situation is urgent, our Emergency Will service takes instructions within 24 hours and prepares a draft within 48, including the signing and an independent witness.

Absolutely. Once you’ve signed it correctly in front of two independent witnesses — our Signing Guide shows you exactly how — it’s fully valid. Where we’re writing your Will is irrelevant to whether it stands up.

Changes to your draft are unlimited and included in the fee. We keep refining it until you’re completely happy. After it’s signed, we can update it later — that’s what our Legacy Care Plan is for.

Ready to take the first step?

Not sure where to begin? That’s exactly what we’re here for. Tell us a little about your situation and we’ll point you the right way — no pressure, no obligation.
