A.D.E Wills is an estate planning practice in Oxford, working with individuals and couples across Oxfordshire and, online, across England and Wales. Most people come to us for a Will. What they usually need is a plan: the Will itself, an LPA so someone can act for them while they’re still alive, and somewhere safe for the documents to live so they can be found and kept current.
That’s the order we think in, and it’s why estate planning sits alongside our Wills and LPA pages rather than underneath them.
Meet Edward
The practice is Edward’s, and the reason for it is personal.
Family is integral to me. I've seen firsthand how inheritance disputes can tear families apart. This drives my passion to protect and provide solutions.
Edward Richings founded A.D.E Wills to help people avoid exactly that — the disputes that start with a Will that was never written, or was written badly, or was written and then never looked at again. It is a small, deliberate practice: you speak to Edward at the first call, and Edward writes your Will.
He graduated in law from Oxford Brookes with First Class Honours, and was awarded the Sweet & Maxwell Prize for the top grade in his year and the Alumni Prize for his contribution to the School of Law. He went on to complete the Legal Practice Course and an LLM at the University of Law, passing with Distinction. Since then he has spent years in private client work and alongside charities on legacy giving.

What we are
A.D.E Wills is a professional Will writing and estate planning practice. Your Will is written by a full member of the Society of Will Writers, working to their Code of Practice and holding full professional indemnity insurance. We are not solicitors and we don’t describe ourselves as such.
Edward trained on the solicitor route — the law degree, then the Legal Practice Course — and chose to specialise in Wills and estate planning instead. It’s a narrower field, done properly, rather than one service among many.
How we work
What that means in practice is a service built around you rather than around an office. We come to your home, at a time that suits your day, and take as long as the conversation needs. For most people that’s easier than fitting an appointment into someone else’s working hours.
Every service we offer was built the same way — around what clients actually need, not what’s convenient for us. The fees are fixed and agreed before we start, so you know where you stand from the first call.
Where another professional is the right person — a financial adviser, an accountant, or a solicitor for an area of law outside ours — we’ll tell you and point you in the right direction.
Built on a clear process
The practice was named for the way we work: Advise, Draft, Execute.
Advise
We talk it through first — your family, your property, what you want to happen and what worries you. Nothing gets drafted until that conversation has happened.
Draft
We write it, send it to you, and change it as many times as you need until it says what you meant. There’s no limit on that and no charge for it.
Execute
A Will only works if it’s signed correctly. We send yours printed, with a step-by-step Signing Guide — or we handle the signing with you.
Your Will is written by a full member of the Society of Will Writers, working to their Code of Practice and holding full professional indemnity insurance. We’re professional Will writers rather than solicitors — the same legally sound documents, usually at a lower fixed fee.
